Step preview

  1. Add granulated sugar, cornstarch, salt and milk to a clean saucepan
  2. Simmer until thickened while whisking - low heat
  3. Add semisweet chocolate to a clean glass measuring cup
  4. Melt carefully in microwave
  5. Add cocoa powder to the chocolate mixture
  6. Mix until smooth
  7. Whisk chocolate mixture into saucepan
  8. Add vanilla extract to the saucepan
  9. Simmer while whisking - 15 min, low heat
  10. Transfer content of saucepan to medium bowl and cover
  11. Chill in fridge - approx 2 hr
  12. Layer with whipped cream
  13. Garnish with mixed berries
