Flavored with spices this Tomato Rice is aromatic, spicy, tangy and with gorgeous red color. 1 cup rice cup is used for measurement You can use any rice of your choice(I used basmati rice) but if using brown rice, cooking time should be increased.(Do manual high 20 mins) Vegans can use Oil instead of ghee

Step preview

  1. Add oil to the inner pot
  2. Pre-heat until hot - Sauté, More
  3. Then add cumin seeds, bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon stick and cardamom pods to the inner pot
  4. Fry until fragrant - approx 2 min
  5. Add onion, green chili and cashew nuts to the inner pot
  6. Fry until golden brown - approx 2 min
  7. Add ginger-garlic paste to the inner pot
  8. Fry - 1 min
  9. Add tomato to the inner pot
  10. Fry until soft - approx 5 min
  11. Add ground turmeric, ground coriander, salt and indian chili powder to the inner pot
  12. Mix well
  13. Add white rice and water to the inner pot
  14. Mix gently
  15. Cancel - Sauté
  16. Close and lock the lid and turn the steam release handle to Sealing
  17. Pressure cook - Rice
  18. Natural release - 3 min
  19. Quick release
  20. Serve
  21. Garnish with cilantro
