Nutty, creamy steel-cut oats get an extra kick from tangy cranberries and toasted nuts in this easy recipe. If you’re rushed in the morning, make this the night before and refrigerate it, then reheat and top with the nuts for a warm, filling breakfast.

Step preview

  1. Add unsalted butter to the inner pot
  2. Pre-heat until hot - Sauté, Normal
  3. Then add steel cut oats to the inner pot
  4. Cook until fragrant - approx 2 min 30 sec
  5. Add kosher salt, sugar, water, whole milk, vanilla extract and dried cranberries to the inner pot
  6. Stir until combined
  7. Cancel - Sauté
  8. Close and lock the lid and turn the steam release handle to Sealing
  9. Pressure cook - Manual, High, 10 min
  10. Quick release
  11. Spoon the oatmeal into two bowls
  12. Top with almonds
  13. Adjust to your taste, adding extra milk or sugar if you like
