These green beans taste just like the ones my grand-mother made during my childhood in the Midwest. I’ve made it easier and healthier than her recipe, though, adding mushrooms and using just a few slices of bacon to add a salty and smoky flavor. The green beans need only 2 minutes of cooking time at high pressure, making this recipe a snap.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat until hot - Sauté, Normal
  2. Add bacon, garlic clove and button mushroom to the inner pot
  3. Sauté until browned - approx 6 min
  4. Cancel - Sauté
  5. Then add low sodium vegetable broth to the inner pot
  6. Deglaze with a wooden spoon
  7. Add green beans to the inner pot
  8. Close and lock the lid and turn the steam release handle to Sealing
  9. Pressure cook - Manual, High, 2 min
  10. Quick release
  11. Add lemon and balsamic vinegar to the inner pot
  12. Stir until combined
  13. Serve immediately
