Step preview

  1. Add butter to the inner pot
  2. Pre-heat until hot - Sauté
  3. Add yellow onion to the inner pot
  4. Cook while stirring occasionally - 15 min
  5. Add sugar, salt and black pepper to the inner pot
  6. Cook until golden brown - approx 7 min
  7. Add dry white wine to the inner pot
  8. Cook until almost evaporated - approx 1 min
  9. Stir beef broth into the inner pot
  10. Cancel - Sauté
  11. Close and lock the lid and turn the steam release handle to Sealing
  12. Pressure cook - Manual, High, 5 min
  13. Cancel - Keep warm
  14. Quick release
  15. Pre-heat broiler - medium heat
  16. Ladle content of inner pot into 8 medium bowls
  17. Top with rustic french bread and gruyère cheese
  18. Place bowls on large baking sheet.
  19. Broil until toasted - 2 min
  20. Serve immediately
