Step preview

  1. Add bacon to the inner pot
  2. Heat until almost cooked - Sauté, Normal
  3. Then add onion, celery stalk, red bell pepper and carrot to the inner pot
  4. Sauté - approx 2 min 30 sec
  5. Add chicken broth to the inner pot
  6. Deglaze with a wooden spoon
  7. Add fresh thyme, salt, black pepper, hot sauce and potato to the inner pot
  8. Close and lock the lid and turn the steam release handle to Sealing
  9. Pressure cook - Manual, High, 6 min
  10. Release pressure -
  11. Heat - Sauté, Normal
  12. Then add corn kernels and sugar to the inner pot
  13. Heat until boiling
  14. Simmer - approx 2 min
  15. Use a potato masher to break up some of the potatoes
  16. Add water and cornstarch to a clean small bowl
  17. Mix with teaspoon until combined
  18. Transfer slurry to soup while stirring frequently
  19. Add crab to the soup
  20. Cook until heated through - approx 1 min
  21. Stir heavy cream into the soup
  22. Season to taste
  23. Serve with a garnish of bacon bits or red peppers
