Step preview

  1. Add bacon to the inner pot
  2. Heat until almost cooked - Sauté, Normal
  3. Then add onion, celery stalk, red bell pepper and carrot to the inner pot
  4. Sauté - approx 2 min 30 sec
  5. Cancel - Sauté
  6. Then add chicken broth to the inner pot
  7. Deglaze with a wooden spoon
  8. Add fresh thyme, salt, black pepper, potato and hot sauce to the inner pot
  9. Close and lock the lid and turn the steam release handle to Sealing
  10. Pressure cook - Manual, High, 6 min
  11. Quick release
  12. Cancel - Keep warm
  13. Heat - Sauté, Normal
  14. Then add corn kernels and sugar to the inner pot
  15. Heat until boiling
  16. Simmer - approx 2 min
  17. Use a potato masher to break up some of the potatoes
  18. Add water and cornstarch to a clean small bowl
  19. Mix with teaspoon until combined
  20. Transfer slurry to soup while stirring frequently
  21. Add crab to the soup
  22. Cook until heated through - approx 1 min
  23. Stir heavy cream into the soup
  24. Season to taste
  25. Serve with a garnish of bacon bits or red peppers
