With a good dose of veg and a milk based sauce, this Creamy Mushroom Baked Gnocchi is lighter and healthier than regular pasta bake, but still absolutely delicious.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat broiler - high heat
  2. Add butter to a clean large saucepan
  3. Heat - medium heat
  4. Add all purpose flour, garlic clove and chili flakes to the large saucepan
  5. Stir until thickened
  6. Reduce heat completely
  7. Whisk milk into the large saucepan
  8. Heat - medium heat
  9. Whisk until thickened - approx 4 min
  10. Stir brown mushrooms and baby spinach into the large saucepan
  11. Stir until wilted then reduce heat
  12. Add gnocchi to a clean baking dish
  13. Pour sauce into baking dish
  14. Stir until combined
  15. Top with mozzarella cheese
  16. Broil in broiler until melted - approx 5 min
  17. Divide content of baking dish between 4 plates
  18. Add mixed green salad to the plates
  19. Serve
