With a good dose of veg and a milk based sauce, this Creamy Mushroom Baked Gnocchi is lighter and healthier than regular pasta bake, but still absolutely delicious.

  • Garlic clove icon

  • Mozzarella cheese icon

    Method

  • 1. Pre-heat broiler - high heat
  • 2. Add butter to a clean large saucepan
  • 3. Heat over medium heat
  • 4. Add all purpose flour, garlic clove and chili flakes
  • 5. Stir until thickened
  • 6. Reduce heat completely
  • 7. Add milk and whisk until thickened - approx 4 min
  • 8. Stir brown mushrooms and baby spinach
  • 9. Stir until wilted then reduce heat
  • 10. Add gnocchi to a clean baking dish
  • 11. Pour sauce over gnocchi
  • 12. Stir until combined
  • 13. Top with mozzarella cheese
  • 14. Broil in broiler until melted - approx 5 min
  • 15. Divide baked gnocchi between 4 plates
  • 16. Add mixed green salad
  • 17. Serve
