This recipe comes from Kelly Rudnicki's cook book The Food Allergy Mama's Baking. I made slight changes because my son does not have a milk allergy but the cookies are awesome. Nut free and egg free. You will never notice.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat - 175°C
  2. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper
  3. Get a clean medium bowl
  4. Add all purpose flour
  5. Add baking soda
  6. Add salt
  7. Blend until combined then set aside
  8. Get a clean medium bowl
  9. Add softened butter
  10. Add firm brown sugar
  11. Add granulated sugar
  12. Add applesauce
  13. Add vanilla extract
  14. Mix thoroughly until well combined
  15. Transfer half of dry ingredients to medium bowl and mix
  16. Mix in the rest of dry ingredients to medium bowl then set aside
  17. Add chocolate chips and mix
  18. Scoop content of medium bowl onto baking sheet
  19. Bake until light golden - 12 min, 175°C
