A gentle and freshly scented soap for your face and body. Once prepared, the soap mixture needs to harden for a month before slicing into bars.

Step preview

  1. Add lye flakes to a clean medium glass bowl then set aside
  2. Add water, carrot and salt to a clean medium glass bowl
  3. Transfer liquid to vegetables
  4. Stir until dissolved and let cool
  5. Add olive oil, coconut oil and castor oil to a clean large saucepan
  6. Melt
  7. Transfer oil mixture to large glass bowl
  8. Transfer vegetables to large saucepan
  9. Mix with stick blender until trace is reached
  10. Fold calendula flowers into the mixture
  11. Transfer mixture to loaf pan
  12. Bang onto work surface
  13. Cover with kitchen towel - approx 12 hr
  14. Let rest until hard
  15. Slice into squares
