These crispy candied pecans are naturally sweetened with maple syrup, and given a kick with cayenne pepper and pumpkin pie spice. I love them in porridge, but they're pretty irresistible as a snack too.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat - 170°C
  2. Line
  3. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  4. Add maple syrup
  5. Add melted butter
  6. Add vanilla extract
  7. Add kosher salt
  8. Add cayenne pepper
  9. Add pumpkin pie spice
  10. Mix
  11. Add pecan halves
  12. Mix
  13. Transfer content of large mixing bowl to baking sheet
  14. Bake without stirring - 10 min, 170°C
  15. Bake while stirring occasionally - 20 min, 170°C
  16. Remove and mix
  17. Cool on surface until completely cool
  18. Store in plastic container
