These crispy candied pecans are naturally sweetened with maple syrup, and given a kick with cayenne pepper and pumpkin pie spice. I love them in porridge, but they're pretty irresistible as a snack too.
Ingredients
Maple syrup60 ml
Butter1 tablespoonmelted
Vanilla extract2 teaspoons
Kosher salt1 ½ teaspoons
Cayenne pepper¼ teaspoon
Pumpkin pie spice2 teaspoons
Pecan halves300 g
Method
1. Pre-heat oven - 170°C
2. Line
3. Add maple syrup, butter, vanilla extract, kosher salt, cayenne pepper and pumpkin pie spice to a clean large mixing bowl
4. Mix
5. Add pecan halves to the large mixing bowl
6. Mix
7. Transfer content of large mixing bowl to baking sheet
8. Bake without stirring - 10 min, 170°C
9. Bake while stirring occasionally - 20 min, 170°C
10. Remove and mix
11. Cool on surface until completely cool
12. Store in plastic container
