Black bean sauce is a real crowd pleaser. This version is cooked in the slow cooker, meaning you can pop all the ingredients into your slow cooker before you go to work and come up to a deliciously warming meal.

Step preview

  1. Prep and set aside ginger: peeled & finely chopped
  2. Prep and set aside garlic clove: finely chopped
  3. Prep and set aside chicken stock: boiling
  4. Get a clean baking dish
  5. Place pork filet
  6. Get a clean small bowl
  7. Add cornstarch
  8. Add soy sauce
  9. Mix into a fine paste with tablespoon
  10. Add prepared ginger
  11. Add prepared garlic clove
  12. Add black bean sauce
  13. Add black pepper
  14. Mix with tablespoon until well combined
  15. Retrieve pork
  16. Pour marinade into pork
  17. Cover with plastic wrap
  18. Marinate overnight
  19. Get a clean slow cooker bowl
  20. Transfer pork to slow cooker bowl
  21. Add prepared chicken stock and cover
  22. Cook in slow cooker then reduce heat - 30 min, high heat
  23. Cook in slow cooker until cooked through - 8 hr, low heat
  24. Get a clean large cast iron skillet
  25. Heat sunflower oil
  26. Add mixed vegetables
  27. Fry until tender
  28. Transfer content of slow cooker bowl to 4 serving plates
  29. Transfer vegetables to 4 serving plates
  30. Serve
