The slow cooker takes a lot of the hassle out of making your own marmalade at home. This recipe makes 6 jars so it's perfect if you're looking for a homemade gift to give to friends and family.

  • Water icon

  • Granulated sugar icon
    Granulated sugar1.65 kg
    Method

  • 1. Add orange and water to a clean slow cooker bowl
  • 2. Cover
  • 3. Cook in slow cooker until tender - 9 hr, low heat
  • 4. Let cool overnight
  • 5. Drain
  • 6. Slice
  • 7. Transfer soaked fruit to large saucepan
  • 8. Add granulated sugar to the large saucepan
  • 9. Heat gently until sugar has dissolved - medium-low heat
  • 10. Boil - 25 min, 220°C
  • 11. Pre-heat oven - 160°C
  • 12. Bake 6 clean jars until warm - approx 5 min, 160°C
  • 13. Transfer content of large saucepan to 6 jars
  • 14. Label and cover
  • 15. Store in fridge until needed
