Step preview

  1. Pre-heat - 200°C
  2. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  3. Add whole wheat flour
  4. Add all purpose flour
  5. Add salt
  6. Add caster sugar
  7. Add sifted baking soda
  8. Add wheat germ
  9. Add pin head oats
  10. Add rolled oats
  11. Mix until combined
  12. Add buttermilk
  13. Mix until well combined
  14. Transfer mixture to loaf pan and gently pat into pan
  15. Bake until hollow-sounding when tapped - 55 min, 100°C
  16. Transfer onto cooling rack until cool
