  • Unsalted butter icon

    50g (about 3½ tbsp)
  • Double cream icon

    200ml (¾ cup)
  • Nutmeg icon

    6 tbsp (89ml)

Step preview

  1. Add water and salt to a clean large saucepan
  2. Boil
  3. Add fettuccine to the pasta
  4. Cook until al dente and continue - medium heat
  5. Melt unsalted butter a clean saucepan
  6. Add double cream to the saucepan
  7. Boil
  8. Simmer until thickened - approx 1 min
  9. Drain pasta
  10. Transfer pasta to saucepan
  11. Toss
  12. Simmer - low heat
  13. Add nutmeg, parmesan cheese and milk to the saucepan
  14. Season with salt & pepper
  15. Toss until coated - low heat
  16. Serve immediately
