Step preview

  1. Heat olive oil to a clean Dutch oven
  2. Add flank steak to the Dutch oven
  3. Fry bit by bit until browned
  4. Transfer content of Dutch oven to plate
  5. Add onion and red bell pepper to the Dutch oven
  6. Cook gently until softened - 10 min
  7. Add smoked paprika, marjoram and caraway seeds to the Dutch oven
  8. Cook while stirring occasionally - 1 min
  9. Return meat to Dutch oven
  10. Add beef stock, tomato purée and salt & pepper to the Dutch oven
  11. Heat until boiling while stirring occasionally
  12. Reduce heat and cover
  13. Cook until thickened - 2 hr, low heat
  14. Serve
