This slow-cooked tender beef is infused with aromatic Asian flavors and the warming heat of ginger to create a melt-in-the-mouth meal. Serve with jasmine rice.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat - 200°C
  2. Heat frying oil to a clean frying pan
  3. Add flank steak to the frying pan bit by bit
  4. Fry in frying pan until lightly browned
  5. Transfer content of frying pan to ceramic baking dish
  6. Add frying oil, celery stalk and red bell pepper to the frying pan
  7. Fry in frying pan until softened
  8. Transfer content of frying pan to beef
  9. Add vegetable stock, dark soy sauce, ginger and dried chilies to the beef
  10. Stir gently
  11. Cover with foil
  12. Cook until tender - 50 min, 200°C
  13. Add cornflour and water to a clean small bowl
  14. Whisk until combined
  15. Transfer mixture to beef
  16. Add sugar snap peas and scallion to the beef
  17. Cover with foil
  18. Cook - 10 min, 200°C
  19. Serve immediately
