Step preview

  1. Pre-heat oven - 175°C
  2. Add egg to a clean large mixing bowl
  3. Beat until frothy
  4. Add butter, sugar and all purpose flour to the mixture
  5. Beat until smooth
  6. Stir buttermilk into the mixture
  7. Add vanilla extract, lemon juice and nutmeg to the mixture
  8. Stir until well combined
  9. Add basic pie crust to a clean pie dish
  10. Pour mixture into pie dish
  11. Bake until firm - 50 min, 175°C
  12. Let cool on round wire rack
  13. Serve
