The perfect short pastry made with real ingredients and the added deliciousness of vanilla bean.

  • Vanilla bean icon

    Butter200 gcold, cubed
  • Water icon

    Method

  • 1. Place sugar and vanilla bean into Thermomix bowl
  • 2. Mill with MC in place10 sec/speed 10
  • 3. Add butter and flour
  • 4. Mix with Mc in place 10 sec/speed 6 until resembles breadcrumbs
  • 5. Add water through hole in lid while you continue to mix 22 sec/Interval
  • 6. As soon as the dough starts to form a ball, stop and remove pastry from bowl onto lightly floured baking mat. Roll and use as directed
  • 7. To roast a vanilla bean, place into a cold oven set to 200°C and roast exactly 10 minutes
  • 8. The house will smell amazing. I usually do a couple of beans when I toast nuts. Easy. Then store in ziploc bag in the spice drawer or pantry
