Pink Kota Cocktail with Reyka Vodka

A lovely and fresh winter cocktail. The cranberry juice goes very well with the thyme and is shaken with fresh blackberries to bring out the pink colour. Cheers!

  • Granulated sugar icon
    Granulated sugar25 g
  • Water icon
    Water30 ml
  • Fresh thyme icon
    Fresh thyme3 sprigs
  • Vodka icon
    Vodka50 ml
  • Crème de violette icon
    Crème de violette10 ml
  • Cranberry juice icon
    Cranberry juice10 ml
  • Lemon juice icon
    Lemon juice10 ml
  • Seltzer water icon
    Seltzer water25 ml
  • Blackberries icon

    Method

  • 1. Add granulated sugar, water and fresh thyme to a clean saucepan
  • 2. Heat until boiling - medium-high heat
  • 3. Stir continuously until sugar has dissolved
  • 4. Remove from the heat
  • 5. Let cool until room temperature - approx 10 min
  • 6. Add vodka, crème de violette, cranberry juice, lemon juice and seltzer water to a clean cocktail shaker
  • 7. Add one third of syrup to cocktail shaker
  • 8. Add blackberries to the cocktail shaker
  • 9. Shake
  • 10. Transfer content of cocktail shaker to cocktail glass
  • 11. Top with ice
  • 12. Garnish with blackberries and fresh thyme
  • 13. Serve
