Ditch the packet ramen and make your own at home. This is a simple, comforting take on a Japanese favourite. The broth is beautifully flavoured and ready in minutes. Make sure you cook the salmon until the skin is crispy. It adds wonderful texture.

Step preview

  1. Add peanut oil to a clean frying pan
  2. Heat in frying pan - medium heat
  3. Add salmon filet to the frying pan
  4. Cook in frying pan - approx 5 min, medium heat
  5. Turn
  6. Cook in frying pan until heated through - approx 1 min
  7. Add chicken stock, lime juice, fish sauce, soy sauce and ginger to the frying pan
  8. Boil in frying pan
  9. Simmer in frying pan - approx 4 min
  10. Add fresh chili and bok choy to the frying pan
  11. Simmer in frying pan until tender - approx 5 min, medium heat
  12. Add water and ramen noodles to a clean large saucepan
  13. Cook until tender - approx 3 min
  14. Drain
  15. Transfer noodles to 2 medium bowls
  16. Transfer content of frying pan to 2 medium bowls
  17. Garnish with cilantro
  18. Serve immediately
