Step preview

  1. Add sausage to a clean large roasting dish
  2. Pre-heat broiler - medium-high heat
  3. Cook until just cooked - 8 min
  4. Heat olive oil to a clean saucepan
  5. Add red onion to the saucepan
  6. Cook until softened - approx 3 min, medium heat
  7. Add rosemary and fresh chili to the meat
  8. Cook - approx 2 min
  9. Add tomato to the meat
  10. Cook - approx 3 min
  11. Add lima beans, lima beans, canned navy beans and tomato purée to the meat
  12. Boil
  13. Reduce until simmering
  14. Transfer content of large roasting dish to meat
  15. Simmer - approx 15 min, low heat
  16. Stir carefully until thickened
  17. Transfer meat to 4 large serving bowls
  18. Add bread slices to the large serving bowls
  19. Serve immediately
