A homemade version of a fast food classic. Cajun seasoning or smoked paprika will give this simple chicken dish a spicy kick, and buttermilk makes the chicken moist and the coating crunchy and satisfying. This recipe would make perfect party food, or serve with fries and corn the cob for dinner.

Step preview

  1. Prep and set aside chicken breast: diced
  2. Prep and set aside fresh chives: finely chopped
  3. Get a clean saucepan
  4. Add sunflower oil
  5. Heat
  6. Get a clean small bowl
  7. Add egg white
  8. Add buttermilk
  9. Add smoked paprika
  10. Beat lightly
  11. Season with salt & pepper to taste
  12. Dip prepared chicken breast
  13. Get a clean medium bowl
  14. Add all purpose flour
  15. Add salt
  16. Add dried oregano
  17. Add paprika
  18. Add cayenne pepper
  19. Add black pepper
  20. Transfer wet ingredients to dry ingredients
  21. Transfer dry ingredients to chicken
  22. Fry for 3min until golden brown
  23. Remove with slotted spoon
  24. Pat dry with paper towels
  25. Get a clean small bowl
  26. Add mayonnaise
  27. Add prepared fresh chives
  28. Mix with tablespoon until well combined
  29. Transfer chicken to serving plate
  30. Transfer sauce to serving plate
  31. Serve immediately
