Homemade burgers beat shop-bought every time, and this spiced up version is no different. These burgers are packed with heat so choose cooling toppings such as sour cream and avocado and serve with sweet potato fries for perfectly balanced flavors.

Step preview

  1. Prep and set aside red onion: finely chopped
  2. Prep and set aside green chili: deseeded & chopped
  3. Prep and set aside cilantro: chopped
  4. Prep and set aside egg: beaten
  5. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  6. Add ground beef
  7. Add prepared red onion
  8. Add prepared green chili
  9. Add prepared cilantro
  10. Add prepared egg
  11. Add chipotle chili powder
  12. Add tabasco
  13. Add breadcrumbs
  14. Season with salt & pepper
  15. Mix well until combined
  16. Form into rounds then set aside
  17. Get a clean frying pan
  18. Add sunflower oil
  19. Transfer meat to frying pan
  20. Cook each side in frying pan for 4min on medium heat
  21. Let rest for approx 5min
  22. Arrange burger bun
  23. Top with tomato salsa
  24. Garnish with avocado
