Homemade burgers beat shop-bought every time, and this spiced up version is no different. These burgers are packed with heat so choose cooling toppings such as sour cream and avocado and serve with sweet potato fries for perfectly balanced flavors.

Step preview

  1. Add ground beef, red onion, green chili, cilantro, egg, chipotle chili powder, tabasco and breadcrumbs to a clean large mixing bowl
  2. Season with salt & pepper
  3. Mix well until combined
  4. Form into rounds then set aside
  5. Add sunflower oil to a clean frying pan
  6. Transfer meat to frying pan
  7. Cook each side in frying pan - 4 min, medium heat
  8. Let rest - approx 5 min
  9. Arrange burger bun in the frying pan
  10. Top with tomato salsa
  11. Garnish with avocado
