Cooking doesn’t get much easier than this. Pillowy gnocchi needs nothing more than a classic sage and pine nut butter to create an indulgent meal in minutes. Sprinkle over plenty of freshly grated Parmesan and add a green salad to complete the meal.

    500g (about 3¼ cups)
  • Unsalted butter icon
    Unsalted butter
    50g (about 3½ tbsp)
  • Fresh sage icon
    Fresh sage
    5¼ tbsp (about ¼)
  • Pine nuts icon
    Pine nuts
    3 tbsp (about 25g)
  • Black pepper icon
    Black pepper

Step preview

  1. Add water to a clean large saucepan
  2. Add salt to the pasta lightly
  3. Boil
  4. Add gnocchi to the pasta
  5. Cook and continue - approx 3 min
  6. Add unsalted butter to a clean frying pan
  7. Heat until foamy - medium heat
  8. Add fresh sage and pine nuts to the frying pan
  9. Cook until golden brown - approx 1 min
  10. Drain pasta
  11. Transfer pasta to frying pan
  12. Toss until combined
  13. Serve
  14. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese
  15. Season with black pepper generously
