These poached pears are a lighter dessert, but full of flavor. Serve warm, with extra sauce and maybe a little vanilla ice cream or yogurt. (Gluten-Free, Vegan, Dairy-Free)
Ingredients
Granulated sugar50 g
Honey1 tablespoon
Cranberry jelly1 tablespoon
Fruit tea bag2
Cinnamon stick1
Star anise pod1
Cloves2
Water600 g
Pear4peeled, cored, halved
Cranberries100 g
Method
1. Add granulated sugar, honey, cranberry jelly, fruit tea bag, cinnamon stick, star anise pod, cloves and water to a clean large saucepan
2. Simmer until sugar has dissolved while stirring occasionally
3. Add pear to the sauce
4. Simmer until soft - 12 min
5. Strain liquid to remove spices, then return it to the saucepan
6. Add cranberries to a clean small bowl
7. Boil sauce until soft while stirring occasionally
8. Let cool briefly
9. Serve
