Step preview

  1. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  2. Add egg yolk
  3. Add granulated sugar
  4. Whisk until pale and light - approx 3 min
  5. Add room temperature unsalted butter
  6. Beat until well combined
  7. Get a clean small bowl
  8. Add cornstarch
  9. Add baking powder
  10. Mix in dry ingredients to dough gradually while mixing
  11. Wrap with plastic wrap
  12. Chill in fridge - 30 min
  13. Pre-heat - 175°C
  14. Line 2 clean baking sheets with parchment paper
  15. Sprinkle with cornstarch
  16. Roll out until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  17. Cut
  18. Transfer dough to 2 baking sheets
  19. Bake until browned at edges - 6 min, 175°C
  20. Transfer carefully onto cooling rack
  21. Assemble dulce de leche gently
  22. Dust with powdered sugar
