A few days ago when casually browsing recipes for inspiration, I saw a link for the "Best Ever 5-Minute Microwave Hummus." This clickbait-y title would normally make me turn around and run for the door, but for whatever reason, I decided to check it out. I'm glad I did, because this recipe is about zero effort and maximum reward. Eat it right away or put it in the fridge, it gets better with time and lasts for up to two weeks refrigerated.

Ingredients

  • Canned chickpeas icon

    15 ounces (about 1⅛)

    about ½ cup (132g)
  • Lemon juice icon

    2 tbsp (27g)
  • Salt icon

    about ¾ teaspoon (4g)

    3½ tbsp (about 52ml)

Step preview

  1. Add canned chickpeas and garlic clove to a clean small bowl
  2. Heat in microwave - approx 4 min 30 sec
  3. Transfer mixture to food processor bowl
  4. Add tahini, lemon juice and salt to the purée
  5. Blend - approx 30 sec
  6. Add olive oil to the purée gradually while blending
  7. Blend until smooth
  8. Transfer purée to serving plate
  9. Drizzle with olive oil
  10. Dust with paprika
  11. Serve
