This rustic tart is the perfect treat. I recommend eating it warm with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce and a scoop of a vanilla bean ice cream.

  • Basic pie crust icon

    Method

  • 1. Pre-heat oven - 175°C / 350°F
  • 2. Line a clean work surface with parchment paper
  • 3. Roll out basic pie crust and almond paste onto a work surface
  • 4. Carefully place the almond paste layer on top of the pie crust
  • 5. Roll out until smooth
  • 6. Slice apple thinly with chef's knife
  • 7. Add butter to a clean small glass bowl
  • 8. Melt in microwave
  • 9. Mix brown sugar, ground cinnamon and melted butter together
  • 10. Add sliced apples and toss until coated
  • 11. Line slices up in three rows, facing in the same direction
  • 12. Roll the edges of the crust over the apples to form a neat rectangle
  • 13. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper and transfer galette
  • 14. Bake until golden brown - 35 min, 175°C / 350°F
