    Ingredients

  • Heavy cream icon
    Heavy cream625 ml
  • White sugar icon
    White sugar150 g
  • Cocoa powder icon
    Cocoa powder3 tablespoons
  • Salt icon
    Salt1 pinch
  • Whole milk icon
    Whole milk440 ml
  • Vanilla extract icon
    Vanilla extract1 teaspoon
  • Bittersweet chocolate icon
    Bittersweet chocolate140 gchopped
    Method

  • 1. Make sure that all of your ingredients are measured and ready because this recipe comes together quickly
  • 2. Pour the heavy cream into a sauce pan and add the cocoa, sugar and salt. Whisk until smooth
  • 3. Bring mixture to boil then turn off the heat
  • 4. Once it reaches a full boil, remove it from the heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir the mixture well until the chocolate has melted
  • 5. Add whole milk and vanilla extract
  • 6. Stir well
  • 7. The mixture will need to chill before going into the ice cream machine. Stir it to release the heat
  • 8. Depending on how cool it was when it went in the fridge, it could take up to 3 hours to chill enough
  • 9. Pour carefully in ice cream maker
  • 10. Churn in ice cream maker - approx 35 min
  • 11. Remove
  • 12. Transfer mixture to plastic container
  • 13. Chill in freezer until firm - approx 3 hr
  • 14. Serve
