  • White rice icon
    White rice150 g
  • 2% milk icon
    2% milk750 ml
  • White sugar icon
    White sugar100 ggranulated
  • Salt icon
    Salt1 g
  • Vanilla extract icon
    Vanilla extract1 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg icon
    Nutmeg¼ teaspoonground
  • Raisins icon
    Raisins40 g
    Method

  • 1. Add white rice to a clean medium bowl
  • 2. Rinse with water until water runs clear then set aside
  • 3. Add 2% milk and white sugar to a clean medium bowl
  • 4. Stir until sugar has dissolved
  • 5. Add salt, vanilla extract, nutmeg and raisins to the milk mixture
  • 6. Transfer rice to milk mixture and stir briefly
  • 7. Add the raisins and rice to slow cooker. Stir to combine and Turn cooker on High for 2.5 hours
  • 8. Once done cooking, turn off cooker and allow to rest for 40 minutes
  • 9. When the resting time is done, it will look a bit watery. But, it will all combine nicely once it is stirred
  • 10. Serve warm or cold. It may thicken more in the fridge but you can just add a small amount of milk to thin it out
