Chili powder is a funny thing. It is called for in so many recipes. Taco seasoning, chili seasoning, and other dishes that require warmth. Chili powder is not traditionally "spicy", it is warm. For a long time I thought it was made from spicy chilis. It actually isn't. It is just a blend of warm spices like cumin and paprika that builds warmth, but not heat. This recipe will give you a great base chili powder. Adjust the seasoning to make it perfect for you. Then add it to recipes that call for chili powder. Uses For Chili Powder - Rice - Vegetables - Bean dishes - Eggs This recipe makes a small amount. Once you get it just the way you like it, make a double or triple batch to have some on hand whenever you need it.
