When I came up with these basil lemon turkey burgers I knew I had a big winner on my hands! They had loads of bright and fresh flavor from the basil and lemon for that Italian flair that I love so much. With the homemade lemon basil mayonnaise, I wanted to tie in the same basil and lemon flavor going on in the turkey burgers to really bring it all together into one big flavor bomb.

Step preview

  1. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  2. Add lemon, egg, dijon mustard and fresh basil to the large mixing bowl
  3. Whisk well
  4. Add truffle salt to the large mixing bowl
  5. Pour canola oil into the large mixing bowl slowly while whisking
  6. Whisk until creamy then set aside
  7. Prepare a clean large mixing bowl on drop
  8. Add fresh basil, lemon zest, dijon mustard, salt, black pepper and egg to the large mixing bowl
  9. Stir
  10. Add turkey to the large mixing bowl
  11. Mix thoroughly until well combined
  12. Divide into quarters
  13. Heat a clean large cast iron skillet
  14. Add butter to the large cast iron skillet
  15. Transfer content of large mixing bowl to large cast iron skillet
  16. Cook - approx 5 min, medium heat
  17. Flip
  18. Add smoked mozzarella cheese to the large cast iron skillet
  19. Cook - approx 5 min
  20. Transfer content of large cast iron skillet to plate
  21. Assemble
