Inherited the recipe from some Canadian friends many years ago. Still have the recipe but not the friends☹️ Very similar to a lot of other cookie recipes but you are likely to make them more than once.

Step preview

  1. Pre-heat - 180°C
  2. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  3. Add caster sugar
  4. Add softened margarine
  5. Add firm light brown sugar
  6. Cream thoroughly
  7. Add vanilla extract
  8. Add egg
  9. Add self raising flour
  10. Blend until combined
  11. Add dark chocolate chips and mix
  12. Add oats
  13. Blend thoroughly
  14. Grease 2 clean baking pans lightly
  15. Scoop content of large mixing bowl onto 2 baking pans
  16. Bake until golden brown - 15 min, 180°C
  17. Remove then set aside
  18. Transfer onto cooling rack and let cool
