Inherited the recipe from some Canadian friends many years ago. Still have the recipe but not the friends☹️

Very similar to a lot of other cookie recipes but you are likely to make them more than once.

  • Caster sugar icon

  • Margarine icon
    Margarine455 gsoftened
  • Light brown sugar icon

  • Vanilla extract icon

  • Dark chocolate chips icon

    Method

  • 1. Pre-heat oven - 180°C / 355°F
  • 2. Add caster sugar, margarine and light brown sugar to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 3. Cream thoroughly
  • 4. Add vanilla extract, egg and self raising flour
  • 5. Blend until combined
  • 6. Add dark chocolate chips to the large mixing bowl and mix
  • 7. Add oats to the large mixing bowl
  • 8. Blend thoroughly
  • 9. Lightly grease a baking tray, or use non stick sheets
  • 10. Scoop cookies onto 2 baking pans
  • 11. Bake until golden brown - 15 min, 180°C / 355°F
  • 12. Remove from the oven then set aside
  • 13. Transfer cookies onto cooling rack and let cool
