Step preview

  1. Prep and set aside plain yogurt: room temperature
  2. Prep and set aside whole milk: room temperature
  3. Prep and set aside egg: room temperature
  4. Pre-heat - 170°C, middle rack
  5. Grease a clean 24 cm round cake tin
  6. Fit the TM5 bowl to TM5
  7. Add room temperature butter
  8. Mix - approx 40 sec, 50°C, speed 4
  9. Add prepared plain yogurt
  10. Add prepared whole milk
  11. Add vanilla bean paste
  12. Add prepared egg
  13. Mix - approx 10 sec, speed 3
  14. Add golden caster sugar
  15. Add self raising flour
  16. Add malt powder
  17. Mix - approx 10 sec, speed 3
  18. Scrape down sides of TM5 bowl
  19. Mix - approx 30 min, speed 3
  20. Pour batter into cake tin
  21. Smooth the top
  22. Bake - 1 hr, 170°C, middle rack
  23. Cool - 15 min
  24. Move onto cooling rack to cool completely before icing
