I love this simple to make cider when it's cold out and I'm feeling run down. Turmeric is excellent for sore throats, colds, and indigestion and this is a tasty way to enjoy it. After I'm done with the cider, I will sometimes add boiling water to the remaining ingredients and buzz it up with a stick blender to create a second tea that has been sweetened and infused with apple juice.

  1. Get a clean saucepan
  2. Add apple juice
  3. Heat until just boiling
  4. Add cinnamon stick
  5. Add peeled, finely sliced ginger
  6. Add lemon peel
  7. Add allspice
  8. Add peeled, finely sliced fresh turmeric
  9. Brew for approx 5min
  10. Strain juice into jug
  11. Serve immediately
