These traditional thin, French pancake can be served with either sweet or savoury fillings or toppings - the possibilities are endless!

    INGREDIENTS


  • Unsalted butter icon
    Unsalted butter

    50 g (about 3 ½ tablespoons)

  • Plain flour icon

    250 g (about 2 cups)

    ½ teaspoon (about 3 g)

  • Granulated sugar icon

    40 g (about 3 ⅛ tablespoons)

  • Egg icon

    8 (about 400 g)

  • Milk icon

    710 g (about 3 cups)

    METHOD


  • 1. Add unsalted butter to a clean small glass bowl
  • 2. Melt then set aside - low heat
  • 3. Add plain flour, salt and granulated sugar to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 4. Whisk until combined
  • 5. Add egg to the large mixing bowl
  • 6. Whisk contents of small glass bowl into batter
  • 7. Add milk to the batter gradually while mixing
  • 8. Strain batter with sieve
  • 9. Chill in fridge - approx 30 min
  • 10. Fry in frying pan - approx 3 min, medium-high heat
  • 11. Flip in frying pan - approx 1 min
  • 12. Garnish
