Like a classic pecan pie, with brown sugar, toasty pecans, a dash of bourbon... but quicker to make, and in truffle form! Skip the booze for a kid-friendly version.

  • Pecan halves icon

    120 g (about 1 ¼ cups)

  • Cookie crumbs icon

    55 g (about ¾ cup)

  • Dark brown sugar icon

    50 g (about ¼ cup)

  • Sea salt icon

    ⅛ teaspoon (about 0.85 g)

    15 g (about 2 ⅛ teaspoons)

  • Vanilla extract icon

    3 g (about ⅝ teaspoon)

  • Bourbon icon

    20 g (about 1 ⅜ tablespoons)

  • Dark chocolate icon
    Dark chocolate

    120 g (about ¾ cup)

    METHOD


  • 1. Add pecan halves to a clean small bowl
  • 2. Heat until toasted - 4 min, low heat
  • 3. Chop then set aside
  • 4. Add cookie crumbs, dark brown sugar and sea salt to a clean medium bowl
  • 5. Transfer nuts to mixture
  • 6. Mix until combined
  • 7. Add maple syrup, vanilla extract and bourbon to the mixture
  • 8. Stir thoroughly until well combined
  • 9. Shape into a ball
  • 10. Place mixture on baking sheet
  • 11. Chill in freezer - 2 hr
  • 12. Add dark chocolate to a clean medium glass bowl
  • 13. Melt
  • 14. Dip balls into chocolate mixture
  • 15. Transfer onto cooling rack
  • 16. Decorate
  • 17. Chill in fridge until set
