Make beautiful crisp homemade pizzas with this simple dough recipe. Fold dough over the toppings to make calzones. Dough keeps for up to 3 days in the fridge.

  • Instant dried yeast icon

    Method

  • 1. Add water, instant dried yeast and granulated sugar to a clean large mixing bowl
  • 2. Whisk briefly
  • 3. Leave until foamy - 5 min
  • 4. Add plain flour, salt and olive oil to the large mixing bowl
  • 5. Mix until smooth - 8 min
  • 6. Knead briefly
  • 7. Grease lightly
  • 8. Turn
  • 9. Cover with plastic wrap
  • 10. Let rise until doubled - 1 hr
  • 11. Knead briefly until smooth
  • 12. Divide
  • 13. Transfer dough to baking sheet
  • 14. Cover with plastic wrap
  • 15. Chill in fridge - 3 hr
  • 16. Remove from fridge
  • 17. Let rest - 30 min
  • 18. Pre-heat oven - 232°C
  • 19. Roll out dough
  • 20. Top to taste
  • 21. Bake until browned at edges - 8 min, 232°C
