Step preview

  1. Get a clean Dutch oven
  2. Add chopped bacon
  3. Cook on medium heat until crispy
  4. Get a clean small bowl
  5. Add chopped onion
  6. Add smoked paprika
  7. Add salt & pepper
  8. Transfer onion mixture to mixture
  9. Cook for approx 5min while stirring occasionally
  10. Get a clean small bowl
  11. Add brown sugar
  12. Stir sugar mixture into mixture
  13. Get a clean glass measuring cup
  14. Add bourbon
  15. Add chicken stock
  16. Pour liquid into mixture slowly
  17. Simmer for approx 10min until thickened while stirring occasionally
  18. Get a clean glass measuring cup
  19. Add bourbon
  20. Add chicken stock
  21. Transfer liquid to mixture
  22. Reduce for approx 10min until thickened while stirring occasionally
  23. Blend with stick blender until smooth
  24. Cook for approx 10min on low heat until thick
  25. Mix in butter to a jar
  26. Let cool mixture
  27. Transfer mixture to jar
