I love to make this sweet snack for parties. It's easy to make and easy to snack on while mingling.

  • Vegetable oil icon

    Method

  • 1. Add vegetable oil and popcorn kernels to a clean large saucepan
  • 2. Heat and cover - high heat
  • 3. Shake - 2 min
  • 4. Uncover, sprinkle with salt then set aside
  • 5. Add granulated sugar, water and corn syrup to a clean saucepan
  • 6. Boil until golden brown - medium heat
  • 7. Add butter and stir thoroughly until completely melted
  • 8. Add baking soda and peanuts to the caramel and mix
  • 9. Transfer popcorn to caramel
  • 10. Season with salt
  • 11. Stir gently until coated
  • 12. Spread evenly and let cool
