Try our traditional shortbread cookie recipe. These sweet and crumbly treats are delicious with fruit compotes. Flavorings such as vanilla, lemon zest or spices can easily be added as desired.

  • Unsalted butter icon

    METHOD


  • 1. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper
  • 2. Add unsalted butter and granulated sugar to a clean stand mixer bowl
  • 3. Cream together until light and fluffy
  • 4. Add all purpose flour and cornstarch to a clean medium bowl
  • 5. Sift dry ingredients into dough bit by bit
  • 6. Knead gently until mixture comes together
  • 7. Wrap with plastic wrap
  • 8. Chill in fridge - 30 min
  • 9. Pre-heat oven - 170°C
  • 10. Roll out on lightly-floured surface
  • 11. Cut
  • 12. Place dough on baking sheet
  • 13. Bake until golden brown - 12 min, 170°C
  • 14. Let cool - approx 5 min
  • 15. Transfer onto cooling rack
  • 16. Dust with powdered sugar
