This is one of my husband's favorite desserts. I made him this for Valentine's Day when we first started dating, with fresh strawberries and strawberry fluid gel. It was love at first bite!

Step preview

  1. Fill a large mixing bowl with ice water
  2. Bloom silver leaf gelatin sheet then set aside
  3. Get a clean saucepan
  4. Add heavy cream
  5. Add granulated sugar
  6. Add scraped, halved vanilla bean
  7. Heat until boiling and turn off heat
  8. Transfer gelatin to mixture
  9. Whisk until dissolved
  10. Get a clean glass measuring cup
  11. Add buttermilk
  12. Whisk milk mixture into mixture
  13. Strain with sieve
  14. Divide evenly
  15. Chill in fridge for approx 6h until set
  16. Decorate
