This homemade almond milk is a sweet alternative to shop bought. Serve over ice for a refreshing treat.

    INGREDIENTS


  • Blanched almonds icon
    Blanched almonds

    250 g (about 1 ½ cups)

  • Water icon
    Water

    600 ml (about 600 g)

  • Granulated sugar icon
    Granulated sugar

    100 g (about ½ cup)

  • Orange blossom water icon
    Orange blossom water

    1 tablespoon (about 13.2 g)

  • Ice icon
    Ice

    METHOD


  • 1. Add blanched almonds to a clean food processor bowl
  • 2. Blend until smooth
  • 3. Add water and granulated sugar to a clean saucepan
  • 4. Boil until sugar has dissolved
  • 5. Stir nuts into milk mixture
  • 6. Simmer - 5 min
  • 7. Stir orange blossom water into the milk mixture
  • 8. Prepare a clean muslin cloth
  • 9. Let cool milk mixture
  • 10. Transfer milk mixture to muslin cloth
  • 11. Strain carefully
  • 12. Add ice to the muslin cloth
  • 13. Serve
