    Method

  • 1. Pre-heat oven - 180°C
  • 2. Line bottom part of pan with a circle of parchment paper then set aside
  • 3. In a clean large mixing bowl mix together all purpose flour, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, kosher salt and baking soda
  • 4. Mix in egg, granulated sugar, buttermilk, applesauce and canola oil
  • 5. Scrape the bowl and whisk carefully until completely mixed
  • 6. Transfer batter to springform pan
  • 7. Bake springform pan - 55 min, 180°C
  • 8. In a medium bowl blend together cream cheese, sour cream and maple syrup
  • 9. Remove the cake from the oven and let cool
  • 10. Remove parchment paper before frosting and frost the cake
  • 11. Serve
