Step preview

  1. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  2. Add grated potato
  3. Salt generously then set aside
  4. Let rest - 20 min
  5. Squeeze with kitchen towel
  6. Add finely sliced onion
  7. Get a clean small glass bowl
  8. Add unsalted butter
  9. Melt in microwave
  10. Transfer butter to vegetables
  11. Season with salt & pepper
  12. Mix well
  13. Get a clean medium cast iron skillet
  14. Add canola oil
  15. Form vegetables
  16. Fry until golden brown
  17. Drain with paper towels
  18. Serve immediately
