Step preview

  1. Pre-heat
  2. Prepare a baking pan with parchment paper
  3. Get a clean stand mixer bowl
  4. Add room temperature unsalted butter
  5. Add granulated sugar
  6. Cream together until light and fluffy
  7. Mix in egg one by one
  8. Mix in vanilla extract
  9. Add all purpose flour
  10. Add ground almonds
  11. Add baking powder
  12. Add zest of lemon
  13. Mix until combined
  14. Transfer batter to baking pan
  15. Bake for 25min until skewer tests clean
  16. Transfer onto cooling rack
  17. Cut into squares
  18. Let rest for approx 8h
  19. Get a clean medium bowl
  20. Add unsweetened shredded coconut
  21. Get a clean medium glass bowl
  22. Add cocoa powder
  23. Add milk
  24. Whisk together
  25. Add boiling water
  26. Whisk together until smooth
  27. Mix in chopped dark chocolate
  28. Mix in powdered sugar
  29. Dip cake
  30. Chill in fridge until set
