Step preview

  1. Get a clean stand mixer bowl
  2. Add room temperature unsalted butter
  3. Add granulated sugar
  4. Cream together until light and fluffy
  5. Add egg
  6. Add vanilla extract
  7. Mix until combined
  8. Add all purpose flour
  9. Mix until dough forms
  10. Wrap with plastic wrap
  11. Chill in fridge for 30min
  12. Pre-heat
  13. Roll out until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  14. Cut out
  15. Decorate
  16. Transfer dough to 2 baking sheets
  17. Bake for 8min until light golden
  18. Let cool for approx 5min
  19. Transfer onto cooling rack until completely cool
  20. Get a clean medium bowl
  21. Add powdered sugar
  22. Sift in flour sifter
  23. Add water
  24. Add food coloring
  25. Stir until smooth
  26. Spread icing with 2 baking sheets
