Step preview

  1. Get a clean stand mixer bowl
  2. Add unsalted butter
  3. Add granulated sugar
  4. Cream together until light and fluffy
  5. Add egg
  6. Mix well until smooth
  7. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  8. Add all purpose flour
  9. Add cocoa powder
  10. Add salt
  11. Add ground cinnamon
  12. Add finely grated nutmeg
  13. Add ground cloves
  14. Whisk together
  15. Mix dry ingredients into dough gradually
  16. Add ground almonds
  17. Mix until dough forms
  18. Wrap with plastic wrap
  19. Chill in fridge for 1h
  20. Pre-heat
  21. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  22. Roll dough until 1/8" (5mm) thick
  23. Cut out
  24. Bake for 10min until golden brown
  25. Transfer onto cooling rack until cool
  26. Spread with jam
  27. Assemble
  28. Dust with powdered sugar
