Method
1. Add unsalted butter and granulated sugar to a clean stand mixer bowl
2. Cream together until light and fluffy
3. Add egg to the dough
4. Mix well until smooth
5. Add all purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, ground cinnamon, nutmeg and ground cloves to a clean large mixing bowl
6. Whisk together
7. Mix dry ingredients into dough gradually
8. Add ground almonds to the dough
9. Mix until dough forms
10. Wrap with plastic wrap
11. Chill in fridge - 1 hr
12. Pre-heat oven - 175°C
13. Line a clean baking sheet with parchment paper
14. Roll dough until 1/8" (5mm) thick
15. Make as many circles as you can, then cut out center hearts on half
16. Bake until golden brown - 10 min, 175°C
17. Transfer onto cooling rack
18. Spread with jam
19. Assemble
20. Dust with powdered sugar
