Step preview

  1. Get a clean small glass bowl
  2. Add unsalted butter
  3. Melt in microwave on low heat then set aside
  4. Get a clean medium bowl
  5. Add all purpose flour
  6. Add baking powder
  7. Add salt
  8. Whisk briefly until combined then set aside
  9. Get a clean large mixing bowl
  10. Add egg
  11. Add egg yolk
  12. Add granulated sugar
  13. Whisk for approx 5min on medium speed until pale and light
  14. Add vanilla extract
  15. Add juice of, zest of lemon
  16. Whisk on medium speed until combined
  17. Transfer butter to batter and mix
  18. Transfer dry ingredients to batter bit by bit while mixing
  19. Chill in fridge for 30min
  20. Pre-heat
  21. Grease 2 madeleine pans generously
  22. Spoon batter into 2 madeleine pans
  23. Bake for 8min until golden brown
  24. Transfer onto cooling rack
  25. Dust with powdered sugar
