Dulce de leche caramel is made by carmelizing milk and sugar. Use full-fat milk for best results, or try coconut or goat's milk. Spread on cookies, cakes, in coffee...or make Alfajores!
Ingredients
Milk960 ml
Granulated sugar205 g
Baking soda¼ teaspoon
Method
1. Add milk, granulated sugar and baking soda to a clean saucepan
2. Heat until boiling - high heat
3. Reduce - low heat
4. Simmer until thick - approx 3 hr, low heat
5. Blend with stick blender until smooth
